J. David Jackson

J. David Jackson joined the Met Music Staff in 2000. Formerly Head of Music at La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels, he has also worked principally on the music staffs of the Pfalztheater (Kaiserslautern), the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), the Turkish National Opera (Istanbul) and the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. He has conducted at La Monnaie, the Teatro Carlo Felice (Genoa), the Teatro Bellini (Catania), the Wolftrap Festival, Central City Opera, El Paso Opera, Opera Omaha, Kentucky Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Canadian Opera Company, the Glyndebourne Festival, and at the Met. He has also conducted concert programs with the Czech Philharmonia, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, and the Slovenian National Orchestra.


J. David Jackson is an active composer and writer as well. His new ending to Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina is played regularly in Brussels. He has created singing translations of Rusalka and The Cunning Little Vixen, and, under a pseudonym, is the author of several murder mysteries.
