Derrick Inouye has an international conducting background combining a wealth of experience on the orchestral podium with an array of important operatic engagements, performing with such companies as the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Nürnberg Opera, Opera Nice Côte D’Azur, the New Japan Philharmonic, the Monte Carlo Philharmonic, the Philharmonia of London, and the Orchestra of St. Lukes in New York.

Previous performances at the Met – Pélléas et Mélisande, Carmen, Lulu, Siegfried, Walküre, Don Pasquale, La Damnation de Faust, Magic Flute, La Traviata, Tosca, and Benvenuto Cellini (debut).


Guest conducting – Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Matsumoto Festival, Hawaii Opera Theatre, New Japan Philharmonic, Tokyo City Philharmonic, Osaka Philharmonic, Nagoya Philharmonic, Sapporo Symphony, Kyoto Symphony, Hiroshima Symphony, New Zealand Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Ottawa National Arts Centre Orchestra, Vancouver Opera, Stuttgart Opera, and others.
